Much to Explore at Temple Sinai’s “Biggest Little Jewish Libraries”

Your Temple Sinai Library Committee continues to expand the services and collections of the Youth and Main Libraries. Members are encouraged to participate in the exclusive book borrowing program. Member families, children and adults are invited to use the library facilities for study, reading, and free WiFi. Large tables, comfortable seating, and an extensive collection of Judaica for young children as well as adult readers provide excellent resources for study and reflection.

Youth Library

  • New additions to the Young Adult Collections (for Grades 3-7) include the 2016 O’Dell Award winning book, “The Hired Girl” by Laura Amy Schlitz and the John Newbery Medal, Audie Award for Middle Grade, “Echo” by Pam Munoz Ryan.
  • The committee holds student Sinai School reading times each Sunday as well as Family Day pro-jects.

Main Library

  • The used items for sale section is updated regularly and proceeds benefit the Temple Sinai Library Fund.
  • Thanks to Sinai member Dave Levine, members can now charge mobile devices on a multi-charging station while taking advantage of the library facility for work, study or leisure reading.
  • Books are added to the collection regularly thanks to the generosity of donors. Used and new book donations are always welcomed.
  • The Library Committee continues to help heal our little corner of the world with its’ ongoing used book and magazine collection for the Northern Nevada Literacy Council (NNLC). Donations of all gen-res of books and magazines can be left year-round in the collection bin stationed in the Main Library. More than 800 ESL adult and child students (English as a Second Language) at the NNLC benefit from the donations.
