Temple Sinai Board Information
The Board of Trustees…
- Is responsible for managing the affairs of the Temple, in accordance with the by-laws
- Oversees the financial activities of the Temple, and personnel matters
- Supervises the maintenance of the buildings and grounds
- Directs membership development and public relations, and assists with programming
- Assists in setting goals to meet the religious, educational and social needs of members
- Manages the operations of our temple as a leadership team in establishing and meeting our goals for the continuing success of Temple Sinai
A Member of the Board…
- Is an ambassador for Temple Sinai at our synagogue and in the community
- Is a member in good standing of the Temple and a Jew as defined by the URJ
- Attends the Board meetings on the second Wednesday evening of the month
- Participates in Board discussions and votes, reviewing materials in advance
- Should have a general knowledge of everyday accounting and finance
- Is responsible for understanding the by-laws, handbook and Roberts Rules of Order
- Is asked to attend and serve as a greeter at Shabbat services at least 6 times per year
- Is encouraged to attend services, onegs, activities, and events at Temple Sinai
- Is expected to be an active member of our community, as an officer or on a committee
