1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28 in the Sanctuary

The Temple Sinai Board of Trustees cordially invites all Sinai Members to a Congregational Forum. Your Sinai Board will give you an update on a few key initiatives at the synagogue and give you the opportunity to share your thoughts with us directly. Expect the Forum to last approximately 90 minutes. Whether or not you can attend the Forum, I always appreciate hearing from you at president@sinaireno.org.

The Board of Trustees has three goals for the Forum. First, we want to give you the most current information about the major things we believe everyone is thinking about. The Rabbinic Search Committee Chair, Robert Dickens, will bring you up to date on the status of finding a new Rabbi for Temple Sinai. Next, Financial Officer Jay Goldberg and the Finance Committee will provide a historical and current view of where Temple Sinai is financially, as well as the efforts we have been making to meet our financial challenges.

These presentations will help meet our second goal for the Forum – to make sure you understand our challenges and opportunities. We want you to see an accurate picture of where we are. Then, we hope you will imagine Temple Sinai’s future, and how you see yourself in it.

That leads us to the Board’s third goal for the Forum – your input. What will keep you enthusiastic about belonging to Temple Sinai? Are we, both as a Board and Temple, moving in the right direction? We want to hear your ideas, your feedback. This way we can ensure that the Board represents what you, the congregation, wants and we can help to guide Temple Sinai in the right direction for its Members.

The Social Action Committee will convene another Living Room Conversation immediately following the Forum. We invite you to stay for that and continue the dialogue.

I need to thank all of our volunteers who have been diligently preparing for the Forum, especially Jay Goldberg and Robert Dickens. Our Committees too have been working especially hard, keeping Sinai as Reno’s Jewish destination!
