Last week we discussed what it means that God remembered Noah, God as relatable, the emphasis on the waters receding, that the ark came to a stop on Mt. Ararat before the waters had receded enough for the mountain tops to be visible, that Noah sent out a raven first (and that this often is forgotten), what it means that the raven went to and fro (most obviously, that there was no land for it to rest on, though interpreters give other interpretations, including that he was protecting the female raven) and that then Noah sent out a dove. As always, we discussed a lot more than this–but that gives you some basics to remember where we have been and where we are going in the text.
