Learning

“Which is greater, study or action? …Study is greater, for it leads to action.”
~Talmud Kiddushin 40b

Lifelong Jewish learning is at the core of who we are and what we do. We provide formal and informal opportunities to study Torah and relevant Jewish topics through reflection, chevrutah (study in pairs) and discussion. We believe that lifelong Jewish learning is of value in and of itself because study fosters personal and communal spiritual growth and leads to action. Torah lishma (study for its own sake) is, finally, a great source of joy. When parents and adults at every life-stage are engaged in their ongoing Jewish education, children see that Jewish learning is about a lifelong endeavor that adds profound meaning and purpose to our lives at any age. See below for descriptions of Torah for Tots (2-5 year-olds), Sinai School (K-7th Grade), and our Adult Education programs. Go to “Community” to learn more about our NFTY Youth Group (8th-12th Grade).
