First Friday Shabbat Potluck Dinners at Temple Sinai

6:00 pm the First Friday Every Month Before Shabbat Service

Join us for a new monthly tradition of food, community, and Shabbat joy!

Come together on the first Friday of every month for our Shabbat Potluck Dinners at 6:00 pm—right after Tot Shabbat (5:30 pm) and before Kabbalat Shabbat services (7:30 pm). It’s a wonderful way to connect with fellow congregants of all ages over a shared meal and the spirit of Shabbat.

Everyone is welcome—bring a dish to share and/or lend a hand!

We need volunteers each month to bring entrees, salads, fruit, desserts, and help with setup and cleanup. We’re using SignUp.com to make it easy.

How to participate in 3 simple steps:

  1. Click the button below or visit signup.com/go/hsmKDLF
  2. Choose your date and see which items or roles are still needed
  3. Sign up—no account or password required!

Let’s make Shabbat special together—one potluck at a time.

Promotional graphic for Temple Sinai's summer Shabbat dinner initiative. Text reads: “Temple Sinai is closed for Shabbat dinner! June 20 · July 18 · August 22. Celebrate Shabbat at home with friends & family.” Below, it explains that there will be no Temple services on those dates to encourage congregants to host or attend home-hosted Shabbat dinners. On the right, an illustrated group of diverse adults share a joyful meal around a candlelit dinner table. Tagline at the bottom: “It’s personal. It’s meaningful. It’s delicious.” Temple Sinai logo appears in the top right corner.

A Change for Mid-Month Shabbats this Summer

June 20, July 18, and August 22 Only!

We will have our all-congregation Shabbat Potluck Dinners on the first Friday of every month, followed by Shabbat services at Sinai. In addition, on three Shabbat Fridays this summer, we will be closed so you can meet up with your friends and family and host Shabbat Dinners of your own together.  We encourage you to invite someone new to your home or attend a Shabbat dinner with a friend.

Need a Place to Go on these Shabbats?

While Temple Sinai will be “closed” for these special Shabbat dinners, we WILL have hosted Shabbat Potluck Dinners in the social hall for single folks or anyone who needs somewhere to go for Shabbat Dinner. Click the button to RSVP and then join us in the Social Hall at 6:00 pm.
