Avodah shebalev (“service of the heart”) or prayer is an important function of the synagogue, and central to Jewish Practice. We say that when a community gathers for prayer, God is more sympathetic than to a solitary individual at prayer because a microcosm of the whole Community of Israel is lifting up their voices together (at least ten Jewish adults). To better familiarize yourself with the prayers and melodies of prayers at Temple Sinai Shabbat services, please listen to the recordings below! Although we do not currently have a standing minyan (communal prayer group) during the week, please make an appointment with our rabbis if you seek to integrate Jewish prayer into your daily life.
